Several years ago, VK text messaging was supplemented by the addition of voice messages. At the end of April, we presented even more possibilities for communication by launching encrypted voice and video calls.
More than 29 million calls connected people from different cities within the first month. Access to VK calls spread gradually as we first offered to connect with friends who were celebrating their birthday. Later on, users activated each other’s access to calls. For many, this new service became an opportunity to talk face-to-face daily.
There are many situations where text messaging just isn’t enough. VK calls help support your friend on an important day, congratulate someone close to you, or find an answer to an urgent question. Sometimes they are the only way to solve a problem.
Recently, we wanted to invite a singer to VK Fest, but we were unable to discuss all the details with her. Not only did we not have her phone number, but we couldn’t get in touch through messages. After numerous attempts, we simply called her on VK.
This is how monyetochka became the headliner of our festival's White stage.
